Forged round steel is round steel produced through forging processes. Domestically, the specification can generally reach a diameter of 1500mm. Forged material is formed by forging impact force, suitable for processing small components or special-shaped steel. Round steel refers to solid long steel bars with a circular cross-section. Its specification is indicated by the diameter in millimeters, for example, “50” means round steel with a diameter of 50 mm. Round steel is divided into three types: hot-rolled, forged, and cold-drawn. Hot-rolled round steel has specifications ranging from 5.5 to 250 mm. Among these: small round steel of 5.5-25 mm is mostly supplied in straight bundles, commonly used as rebar, bolts, and various mechanical parts; round steel larger than 25 mm is mainly used for manufacturing mechanical parts or as seamless steel tube billets. Differences between round steel and other steel bars: 1. Different appearance: round steel has a smooth surface, no patterns or ribs, while other steel bars have刻纹 (grooves) or ribs on the surface. This results in round steel having lower bonding force with concrete, whereas other steel bars have higher bonding force with concrete. 2. Different composition: round steel (Grade I steel) is ordinary low-carbon steel, while other steel bars are mostly alloy steel. 3. Different strength: round steel has lower strength, while other steel bars have higher strength. That is, for the same diameter, the tensile strength of round steel is lower than that of other steel bars, but round steel has greater plasticity than other steel bars, meaning round steel undergoes greater deformation before breaking, while other steel bars deform much less before breaking.
