Forged round steel is round steel that has been forged according to process requirements. Domestically, the specifications can generally reach a diameter of 1500mm. Forged material is shaped by the impact force of forging, making it suitable for processing small parts or special-shaped steel. Round steel refers to a solid long steel bar with a circular cross-section. Its specifications are expressed in millimeters of diameter, for example, “50” indicates round steel with a diameter of 50 millimeters. Round steel is divided into three types: hot-rolled, forged, and cold-drawn. The specifications for hot-rolled round steel range from 5.5 to 250 millimeters. Among these: small round steel of 5.5-25 millimeters is mostly supplied in straight bundles, commonly used as reinforcing bars, bolts, and various mechanical parts; round steel larger than 25 millimeters is mainly used for manufacturing mechanical parts or as billets for seamless steel pipes. Differences between round steel and other steel bars: 1. Appearance is different. Round steel has a smooth surface, no patterns or ribs, while other steel bars have patterns or ribs on the surface. This results in a lower bond strength between round steel and concrete, while other steel bars have a higher bond strength with concrete. 2. Composition is different. Round steel (Grade I steel) belongs to ordinary low-carbon steel, while other steel bars are mostly alloy steel. 3. Strength is different. Round steel has lower strength, while other steel bars have higher strength. That is, for round steel and other steel bars of the same diameter, the tensile force that round steel can withstand is smaller than that of other steel bars, but round steel has better plasticity than other steel bars, meaning round steel undergoes greater deformation before being pulled apart, while other steel bars deform much less before being pulled apart.
